Egypt, Czech explore medical investment opportunities

Egypt Healthcare Authority Chairman, Ahmed El Sobky, met with Czech Ambassador in Cairo, Ivan Jukl, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in healthcare, according to the Egyptian Cabinet. The talks focused on exchanging expertise in universal health insurance, localising medical device manufacturing, and medical coding.

Both sides agreed to train Egyptian medical personnel, particularly nursing staff, to improve healthcare services. El-Sobky highlighted the Czech Republic’s advanced experience in medical device production and its potential role in transferring technology to Egypt.

The meeting also addressed healthcare support for refugees and the role of the private sector in health investment.

El Sobky also announced the establishment of a joint committee with representatives from Czech and Egyptian companies to evaluate Egypt’s healthcare market needs.

The initiative aims to identify investment opportunities aligned with national priorities, drawing on the Czech model of private sector participation in healthcare development.
