Egypt denies reports of missing or damaged artefacts at Graeco-Roman Museum

Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said that all artefacts at the Graeco-Roman Museum in Alexandria are intact and well-preserved, denying reports that five pieces had disappeared and one was damaged, the ministry said on Wednesday.

The ministry confirmed that all artefacts, whether on display or in storage, remain in their designated places and in good condition. It described the claims circulating on social media and some news outlets as “completely baseless.”

The ministry also urged the media and the public to verify information before publishing to avoid misleading public opinion.
