Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny has met with Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Cairo Ysset Roman Maldonado to explore ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in civil aviation, the Cabinet said in a statement.
The meeting reviewed outcomes of El-Hefny’s participation in the 13th meeting of Directors of Civil Aviation of North America, Central America, and the Caribbean (NACC/DCA/13), which was hosted recently by the Dominican Republic.
Discussions also included enhancing bilateral aviation cooperation, sharing technical expertise, and aligning joint positions within the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States (GRULAC) on current topics.
El-Hefny praised the Dominican Republic’s active role in civil aviation and stressed Egypt’s keenness to reinforce ties with Latin American and Caribbean countries in this sector, the announcement added.
He added that cooperation with the Dominican Republic represents a bridge for strengthening regional and international partnerships and for supporting common positions globally, particularly in training and capacity-building.
Ambassador Ysset Roman highlighted Egypt’s participation in the recent Dominican-hosted aviation meeting, describing it as a reflection of Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting regional cooperation in civil aviation.
Both sides agreed to continue coordination and follow up on practical mechanisms to broaden cooperation in the coming period, in order to strengthen bilateral ties and bolster their positions internationally in civil aviation.
