Egypt’s exports of cotton rose to 1,761 thousand metric quintals in 2021, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) statement on Wednesday.
Cotton export increased by 101.5 percent compared to 874 thousand metric quintals in 2020, the report shows.
The quantity of cotton production has increased to reach 2.3 million quintals in 2021, a growth of 33.3 percent over 2020.
Moreover, quantity of the exported cotton to India has reached 1.5 million metric kantars, representing 87.3 percent of the total exported quantity from the beginning to the end of the season.
