Egypt earmarks EGP 8.1b for public transport in FY23/24 budget

The Egyptian government has allocated 8.1 billion Egyptian pounds for transport and mobility initiatives in its fiscal year 2023/2024 budget, according to latest data published by Ministry of Finance on Sunday.

This substantial increase of 5.4 per cent compared to 600 million pounds allocated in the 2015/2016 fiscal year budget underscores the government’s priority of ensuring accessible and affordable transport options for the public.
