Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Mustafa Al-Sayyad participated in the meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) three regional consultation groups on Wednesday to discuss the Food Security Strategic Plan 2026–2035 , as per a Cabinet statement.
The meeting, hosted by Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality, brought together representatives from OIC member states, regional and international organisations, and experts.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation among member states to ensure sustainable food security, enhancing strategic agricultural commodities, developing a shared food reserve system, and setting a programme for key agricultural products.
The meeting approved the strategic plan, providing a unified vision for OIC countries and practical recommendations to improve integration and coordination, aiming for more efficient and sustainable food systems.
Representatives from 18 member states, along with regional organisations and experts, attended the sessions, reviewing progress on strategic agricultural commodity programmes and advancing the plan to support sustainable development and food security across the OIC.
