Egypt, EU discuss expanding humanitarian effort for Gaza

Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, held a meeting on Tuesday with a European Union delegation led by the Director-General for the Middle East and North Africa Stefano Sannino to discuss expanding cooperation to sustain Egypt’s humanitarian support for Gaza.

The meeting reviewed Egypt’s ongoing medical and relief efforts for Palestinians, including its emergency response and reconstruction plans, as per a Cabinet statement.

Discussions also covered the preparedness of Egyptian hospitals to receive injured Palestinians, with emergency, intensive care, and inpatient units prepared to handle incoming cases.

Both sides explored ways to enhance cooperation in providing medical and humanitarian aid, rehabilitating Gaza’s healthcare system, and offering psychological support, particularly for children affected by the crisis.
