Egypt, EU explore digital transformation, ICT cooperation

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat met with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt Angelina Eichhorst to discuss strengthening cooperation in digital transformation, capacity building, outsourcing, and research and development, as per a Cabinet statement.

Talaat highlighted the expanding partnership between Egypt and the EU in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, emphasising Egypt’s strong talent pool for exporting digital services to European markets.

He also pointed to opportunities for collaboration on legislation, cybersecurity, and strategic support for entrepreneurs.

The meeting also focused on Egypt’s efforts in digital skills development and supporting freelancers, with an agreement to promote youth participation in Europe’s freelance job market.
