Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced the opening of four new dialysis units and the distribution of 26 dialysis machines across hospitals in various governorates in January 2025, the Egyptian Cabinet reported on Tuesday.
The newly inaugurated units include:
- A dialysis centre in Ballanah, Aswan.
- Two centres in Fayoum—one in the quarantine unit and another in the drowning unit.
- A specialised nephrology, liver, and gastroenterology unit at Mallawi Hospital in Minya.
The additional dialysis machines have significantly expanded the capacity of multiple hospitals nationwide, ensuring more patients receive timely treatment.
To improve patient access, the ministry also launched an automated scheduling system for dialysis sessions, allowing patients to book and transfer between centres easily via the hotline (0225873050).
This initiative is part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to enhance medical services and ensure equitable healthcare access across the country.
