Egypt expands overseas jobs for skilled workers

Egypt’s Ministry of Labour is expanding overseas job opportunities for skilled workers, with Minister Mohamed Gobran handing over new job contracts in the UAE and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry announced on Tuesday.

The minister also inspected tests for applicants aiming to work in Italy through the ministry, covering professions in construction, electricity, and related industrial sectors.

Gobran stressed that the initiative reflects the ministry’s commitment to securing decent work opportunities abroad, while ensuring Egyptian workers are skilled, trained, and matched with the needs of foreign labour markets.

He noted that the testing and orientation process aims to safeguard workers’ rights, protect them overseas, and familiarise them with labour laws in their destination countries, serving the interests of both employees and employers.
