Egypt is seeking to strengthen agricultural ties with Romania and Moldova through expanded trade, technology exchange, and joint investment, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement.
In a meeting on Monday with Egypt’s newly appointed ambassador to Romania and Moldova, Mohamed Mostafa Orfi, Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk discussed opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation in agricultural development and food security.
Minister Farouk emphasised Egypt’s readiness to boost trade volumes and explore joint production of agricultural machinery, positioning Egypt as a regional hub for distributing Romanian equipment across African markets.
Talks also touched on expanding markets for Egyptian exports and leveraging research and innovation in farming to address global food security challenges.
The discussions come amid increasing interest from Egypt in enhancing partnerships with Eastern European countries in strategic sectors, including agri-business and sustainable development.
