Egypt is seeking to expand global partnerships to attract private investment, with South Korea seen as a model for economic and development cooperation, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Korea–Egypt Economic Partnership Conference in Cairo, Kouchouk said bilateral trade reached $1.6 billion in 2024, while South Korean foreign direct investment in Egypt has exceeded $6 billion.
He noted that Korean companies have successfully localised industries across several sectors and positioned Egypt as a regional hub for manufacturing and exports.
Kouchouk added that the two countries are working to explore new opportunities in industry and technology, drawing on South Korean expertise to localise advanced technologies.
