Egypt eyes e-commerce expansion with Talabat Mart

Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Sherif Farouk, held a meeting with representatives of Talabat Mart, a leading technology and e-commerce company, to discuss potential cooperation aimed at boosting economic development, and integrating technology into the supply and trade sectors, the Egyptian Cabinet reported on Wednesday.

Farouk emphasised the importance of supporting tech-driven startups, highlighting their role in advancing Egypt’s digital economy and market competitiveness. The discussions included utilising the ministry’s distribution networks and showcasing products from the Holding Company for Food Industries on the Talabat Mart platform.

Talabat Mart expressed its readiness to collaborate by providing technological platforms to support local producers, facilitating access to domestic and international markets, and promoting e-commerce initiatives.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Egypt’s economy and working with the government to achieve sustainable development goals.

The meeting is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance public-private sector partnerships.
