Egypt faces no potential radioactive leak risks amid regional unrest – Cabinet

Egypt denies being affected by any potential radioactive leaks resulting from ongoing developments in the region, the Egyptian Cabinet Media Centre said Wednesday.

In coordination with the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA), the statement affirmed that there are no indications of any change or increase in the radiation background within Egypt.

The ENRRA monitors the radiation levels around the clock through a nationwide radiation monitoring, alert, and early warning system, equipped with the latest detection devices and technologies. It also tracks the status of regional nuclear facilities based on reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The Authority highlighted ongoing coordination with relevant national bodies and urged citizens to rely on official sources for information on this matter.
