Egypt-FIHC Considers Launching Sugar Plant in Damietta with EGP7bn

Egyptian Holding Company for Food Industries (FIHC) Chairman Major General Ibrahim Hassanein revealed that the Ministry is currently considering the launch of plan for the production of sugar in Damietta governorate with investments estimated at EGP7 billion.

It is expected that the company’s production capacity will reach 500.000 tonnes, noting that the establishment of this plant comes among the global logistics center for grains and wheat, Hassanein explained.

Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad on Sunday, Hassanein noted that FIHC is seeking to take several actual steps regarding restructuring all the firms which affiliated to it with the aim of providing goods and products with high quality for citizens at affordable prices.

Moreover, FIHC is working to restoring the confidence for citizens after years of negligence that faced by the company, Hassanein added.
