Egypt, France discuss implementation of economic partnership deal

Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat held talks on Tuesday with French Ambassador Éric Chevallier to discuss mechanisms for implementing an economic partnership agreement signed during President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to Cairo in April.

The agreement, which elevated ties to a strategic partnership, aims to strengthen cooperation in sectors including healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

Al-Mashat said Egypt is committed to creating an attractive investment climate and positioning the private sector as the main driver of growth. She highlighted the launch of the government’s National Narrative for Economic Development, a roadmap aligned with Vision 2030 that focuses on private sector–led growth, competitiveness, job creation, and the green transition.

She added that France has supported Egypt in expanding opportunities for SMEs, improving market access, and encouraging the transfer of expertise and knowledge.

Both sides reaffirmed their intention to deepen economic cooperation and attract more French investment, building on the outcomes of Macron’s visit and growing bilateral ties.
