Egypt, Goldman Sachs explore joint opportunities at Davos

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly met on Wednesday with Jared Cohen, Co-Head of the Goldman Sachs Global Institute, at the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos, to explore new areas of collaboration between Egypt and the global financial giant.

Prime Minister Madbouly highlighted Egypt’s ongoing economic reforms and efforts to address both regional and international challenges impacting the nation’s economy. He emphasised the government’s focus on supporting the private sector and fostering an attractive investment climate, citing positive outcomes from Egypt’s partnership with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) despite external challenges.

The prime minister also identified key sectors for growth, including tourism, agriculture, industry, and information technology, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to developing strategic plans for these industries.

Cohen expressed strong interest in enhancing cooperation with Egypt, proposing a visit to explore further investment opportunities. He also outlined Goldman Sachs’ ongoing financial and research activities, noting the potential to support Egypt’s investment landscape.

Egypt’s Finance Minister, Ahmed Kouchouk, praised Goldman Sachs for its collaboration with Egypt on financial matters, highlighting the positive insights from the institution’s reports, which reflect the progress being made in Egypt’s economic development.
