Egyptian trade and industry ministry has issued new 14 licences for cement factories in Upper Egypt governorates, Minister Tarek Qabil announced Wednesday.
During his meeting with members of Cairo River Nile Rotary Club, the minister stated that those factories are set to operate with coal, accordingly, there were not be a problem to provide them with necessary energy.
Qabil added that there are six factories currently operating with coal and committed to follow all environmental standards.
The minister emphasised on the important role that private sector will play in the process of the economic development within the upcoming period since it will create new job opportunities. Also, private sector is a key factor in creativity, innovation, upgrading production, as well as society’s sustainable development.
Qabil asserted that the government is keen to empower the private sector to play the major role in development process besides enhancing the initiatives and providing suitable environment to business sector to grow.
