Egypt greenlights Intl. Council of Green Hydrogen

Egypt approved the Cairo-based formation of the International Council of Green Hydrogen, which will be located at Nile University, the Egyptian Cabinet stated on Thursday.

During a late Wednesday meeting of the National Green Hydrogen Council headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly urged swift meetings with various companies that have signed agreements in the green energy sector to introduce unprecedented incentives to encourage green projects.

The meeting tackled studies on allocating lands for green hydrogen projects, including a large station in Al-Tur for green hydrogen production, a unit in Zaafarana/Ras Ghareb for kaolinite sand purification, and areas in the Gulf of Suez for wind energy projects to support green hydrogen production.
