Egypt Healthcare Authority’s (EHA) Chairman Ahmed El-Sobky met with Sameh El-Bagoury, chairman of Sandoz Egypt, to review ongoing cooperation in providing oncology and biological treatments, as per a Cabinet statement on Tuesday.
The meeting discussed launching a scientific platform for service recipients, promoting medical education, and expanding training and research programs to improve healthcare services for comprehensive health insurance beneficiaries.
It was also agreed in principle to sign a memorandum of understanding between EHA and Sandoz Egypt Pharma, covering various aspects of collaboration, according to the statement.
These include supporting kidney transplant by providing immunosuppressive drugs and developing kidney transplant centres through specialised training programmes for doctors and healthcare professionals.
The meeting highlighted the need to raise public awareness about antibiotic resistance, educate service recipients on safe medication use, and promote disease prevention and early detection to improve citizens’ quality of life.
El-Sobky highlighted the Healthcare Authority’s digital infrastructure, which issues over 20 million electronic prescriptions monthly, improving healthcare services for beneficiaries, the statement added.
