Egypt’s Housing and Building National Research Centre (HBRC) will be holding Monday the second International Conference on Bridge Testing, Monitoring & Assessment.
HBRC is organising this conference in cooperation with the International Society for Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Infrastructure (ISHMII) and Egypt’s Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF).
The event aims is to bring together researchers, engineers, and agency representatives, to exchange innovative and practical research results and technological advancements related to bridge management and preservation.
Egypt is one of several countries in North Africa and the Middle East region that operate a large inventory of bridges that need to be preserved and maintained in safe working condition by applying the best engineering practices and modern technologies for bridge evaluation and load testing.
Khaled El-Zahabi, President of HBRC, said a number of prestigious professors and professionals from the Egyptian, Arab and international universities would participate in the conference.
