Egypt hopes to boost its chemical and fertiliser exports by 10 per cent in 2024, the Chairman of the Chemicals and Fertilisers Export Council, Khaled Abu El Makarem, told Al Arabiya Business.
The north-African country’s chemicals and fertilisers exports amounted to $6 billion in 2023, dropping from approximately $8.63 billion in 2022, he said, adding that the sector’s exports account for about 22 per cent of Egypt’s total non-oil exports.
Al Arabiya Business also quoted him as saying that the Egyptian government is paying great attention to boosting exports and enhancing the capabilities of the manufactures to help double the sector’s exports through opening up new markets.
