Egypt in process to execute utilities flagships in Sohag

Egypt is on track to implement various utilities flagships in New Akhmim City in Upper Egyptian governorate of Sohag, Prime Minister and Minister of Housing Moustafa Madbouly said on Sunday.

The works will include a number of drinking water and sewage stations as well as electricity and irrigation networks, besides road and agricultural projects, Madbouly added.

The utilities projects’ first phase is to comprise new drinking water and sewage stations as well as irrigation networks, at a cost of 150 million Egyptian pounds ($8.4 million), New Akhmim City Development Authority’s head Hossam Fathi Amin announced on Sunday.

“The accomplishment rates of the utilities projects’ first phase reached 80 percent,” Amin said.
