Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met on Tuesday with Patryk Mikucki, vice president of Alexion Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca’s unit for rare diseases, to discuss expanding cooperation in genetic and rare illnesses, the Cabinet said in a statement.
Abdel Ghaffar said the partnership aligns with Egypt’s strategy to build leading health-sector collaborations, positioning the country as a regional hub for clinical research and widening access to advanced global therapies.
Talks focused on expanding clinical research in Egypt, improving patients’ access to innovative treatments, and exploring opportunities to localise research and development technologies, according to the statement.
