Egypt in talks with China’s Oppo on plant plans

Egypt is in talks with Chinese smartphone maker Oppo about manufacturing in the country, according to a communications ministry statement released on Wednesday.

The discussions took place between Egyptian Telecommunications Minister Amr Talaat, Mohamed Nasr Eldin, assistant minister for global information infrastructure (GII), and Scott Zhang, Overseas Business Lead for Oppo, on the sidelines of Mobile World Congress 2022 taking place in Barcelona, Spain.
