Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly inaugurated the $30 million Abdos FMCG chemical cosmetics manufacturing plant in the Integrated Industrial Zone in Sokhna, part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
The plant, which spans 50,000 square metres, has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons and provides 350 direct and indirect jobs.
Chairman of the company Siddhant Agarwal highlighted Egypt’s strong potential for industrial growth, noting that the plant’s first phase relies on 60 per cent local components. The second phase, currently under construction, is set to open in June.
The facility produces a range of cosmetic products, including shampoos, creams, and soaps, with exports reaching multiple countries. The project was completed in 10 months, from December 2023 to October 2024.
