Egypt increases LPG prices

Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly has announced a new pricing structure for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) through Decision No. 300 of 2024. Starting September 18.

The price of household LPG cylinders will rise from 100 to 150 Egyptian pounds at the factory gate. Commercial LPG cylinders will increase from 150 to 200 Egyptian pounds, and a 25-kilogram cylinder will cost 200 Egyptian pounds at distribution warehouses. Bulk gas will be priced at 12,000 Egyptian pounds per ton, excluding transportation costs.

The decision, effective from the stated date, includes stamp duty and requires relevant authorities to enforce these changes. This move follows the review of various laws and the Cabinet’s 2019 decision to streamline subsidies on petroleum products and natural gas.
