Egypt increases minimum wage for public employees to EGP 3,000 – PM
Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced on Wednesday that the government has raised the minimum wage for public employees to 3,000 Egyptian pounds ($152.21) up from 2,700 pounds per month, to cope the global inflation wave.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi had directed for an exceptional allowance of 300 pounds to fight the high cost per month for all state employees and pensions, Madbouly pointed out.
The decision is according to al-Sisi’s instructions to establish social protection measures in order to handle the living cost, Madbouly said during his meeting, which followed the end of the EEC 2022.
