Egypt’s Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk met India’s ambassador to Cairo Suresh K. Reddy on Wednesday to discuss boosting agricultural cooperation and joint investment opportunities, the Cabinet said.
Farouk highlighted Egypt’s efforts to attract private sector partnerships and improve the investment climate in agriculture, while Reddy said India was keen to expand cooperation and praised Egypt’s expertise in the field.
Talks focused on joint projects to expand access to foreign markets, including onion exports, coconut cultivation, fodder and fertiliser production, and research collaboration. The two sides also discussed drawing on India’s experience in agricultural cooperatives and exploring technologies for using by-products to improve soil and conserve water.
