Egypt, India explore expanding industrial, investment ties

Egypt’s Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Sheemy met on Tuesday with India’s Ambassador to Egypt Suresh Reddy to discuss boosting bilateral cooperation across a range of economic and industrial sectors, the Cabinet said in a statement.

Talks focused on potential partnerships with companies affiliated with the ministry, particularly in pharmaceuticals—such as active pharmaceutical ingredients and treatments for chronic and critical illnesses—as well as textiles, ready-made garments, fertilisers, chemicals, aluminium and automotive manufacturing.

The two sides also reviewed opportunities in mining and hospitality, sectors where several Indian companies are already present.

The ministry presented its portfolio of state-affiliated firms and investment opportunities as part of efforts to attract Indian partners and deepen industrial and commercial ties.
