The Ministerial Group for Industrial Development convened on Thursday to address pressing issues impacting Egypt’s industrial sectors, with a focus on investor complaints and challenges within key industrial zones.
The group extended grace periods for aggrieved investors in the 710-acre industrial area in the 10th of Ramadan City, and directed immediate actions, including removing sand dunes blocking road access and finalising the electricity network. It also instructed the bodies concerned to swiftly connect utilities to the industrial area in New October City.
The meeting also addressed challenges in the Al Matahrah industrial zone in Minya Governorate, such as increasing electrical capacity and resolving energy shortages. On that prospect, the Minister of Industry, Kamel El Wazir, instructed the formation of a committee, comprising the Ministry of Electricity, the Industrial Development Authority, and Minya Governorate, to tackle these issues and report back within three weeks.
