Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly witnessed the signing of four contracts with China’s Xin Xing Company, in Sokhna industrial zone, for major projects inside and outside the country, with a total value of EGP 34.5 billion, as per a Cabinet statement on Tuesday.
The first contract, signed with Arab Contractors, involves the supply of 1,056 tons of ductile iron pipes for a water treatment plant in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), the statement noted.
The second contract, signed with Madkour Group, involves the delivery of 27,769 tons of pipes for the Ministry of Housing’s Jannah Egypt project.
The third contract, signed with Hassan Allam Trading and Engineering, is to supply 19,621 tons of ductile iron pipes for a project in Aswan Governorate.
The fourth contract was concluded with Concord for Engineering and Construction for the supply of 29,162 tons of pipes for the Third Ring Road project in Mecca, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The total value of the four contracts amounts to EGP 32.5 billion for national projects within Egypt, in addition to $39 million allocated for exports.
The contracts cover over 77,600 tons of ductile iron pipes of different sizes and specifications, showcasing the factory’s ability to meet the needs of domestic and global markets with full-scale production readiness.
Prime Minister Madbouly praised the efforts of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) in ensuring the success of this promising project, highlighting its significant contribution to national projects.
Madbouly highlighted the shift to domestic production of pipes, boosting industrial localisation and exports in Egypt. He emphasised the role of private sector partnerships in achieving development goals.
