Egypt invites Chevron to join Red Sea bid round

Egypt’s Petroleum Minister Karim Badawy discussed expanding Chevron’s investments in the country, particularly in the Red Sea, during talks with Clay Neff, President of Chevron Exploration and Production, on the sidelines of ADIPEC 2025 in Abu Dhabi.

According to a ministry statement on Sunday, the meeting reviewed Chevron’s ongoing operations and future plans following its recent joint win with Shell of two new exploration concessions in the Mediterranean Sea, as well as progress in existing blocks, including Nargis and North El-Dabaa.

Badawy called the US energy major to expand its portfolio in Egypt and explore opportunities in upcoming Red Sea exploration blocks, which will be offered under a new incentive framework aimed at attracting faster investment and exploration activity.

The minister also invited Neff to take part in the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2026).
