Finland’s exports to Egypt have increased 50 percent throughout the last few years, said Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen on Tuesday.
Egypt is Finland’s biggest partner in the Middle East and consumer market in Africa, the Finnish Minister added, saying the trade exchange between the two countries is continuously growing.
Egyptian Minister of Trade Tarek Qabil and Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen have inaugurated earlier the day the Egyptian Finnish Forum in Cairo.
Minister Mykkänen has started his four-day official visit to Egypt on Monday, heading a trade delegation involving 20 companies, who are keen to look into the investment opportunities in the North African country.
The Finnish delegation consists of 20 companies operating in building and construction, information technology, waste management, and energy sectors, Mykkänen said.
Mykkänen has expressed his country’s full readiness to cooperate with Egypt, notably in the information technology and communications sectors.
