Egypt, Japan join forces to modernise math curricula

Egypt’s Ministry of Education has signed a letter of intent with SPRIX, a leading Japanese educational development institution, to enhance cooperation in developing math curricula, as per a Cabinet statement.

Japan’s global prominence in mathematics education underscores the significance of this initial curriculum development collaboration with Egypt, according to the statement.

The partnership aims to modernise mathematics curricula, benefiting from the Japanese experience, which is distinguished by a strong focus on sound scientific foundations and the development of students’ cognitive skills.

Egypt’s Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif, emphasised the importance of partnering with Japan to improve curriculum development. He believes that adopting the Japanese model can enhance the math skills of Egyptian students.

The Japanese Ambassador in Cairo expressed his delight at witnessing this new collaboration between the two sides, which enhances Egypt’s educational system through expertise exchange.
