Egypt, Japan’s JICA discuss cooperation on childcare development

Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy met with the new Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) office in Egypt, Ebisawa Yu, to discuss strengthening cooperation under the Early Childhood Services Quality Improvement Project, the Egyptian Cabinet reported on Sunday.

Morsy praised the ongoing collaboration with JICA, which led to the establishment of a childcare centre for ministry employees at the new Administrative Capital, based on the Japanese model. She noted that all nurseries in the new capital would follow this approach, with a third childcare centre set to open after those at the Ministries of Justice and Social Solidarity before the end of Ramadan.

The minister highlighted that the newly opened centre is the first of its kind within a government institution, aligning with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directive to implement the Japanese model in nurseries nationwide.
