Egypt’s trade ministry aims at establishing the Russian industrial zone in Cairo as soon as possible to attract more Russian investments, minister Tariq Qabil said Friday.
The minister made these remarks during his meeting with Serge V. Kirpichenko -Russian Ambassador to Egypt- in which they discussed establishing the Russian industrial zone.
According to a statement released by Ministry of Trade Thursday, the two parties have talked over the future of mutual strategic ties between the two states triggered by the fact that both Egyptian and Russian presidents are keen to strengthen bilateral cooperation in different fields.
Qabil and Kirpichenko have talked over the obstacles facing the Egyptian agricultural exports to the Russian market and agreed on the importance of coordinating between Egypt and Russia to enable the Egyptian exports to enter the Russian market.
The Egyptian Trade Ministry is coordinating with the Russian side to start negotiations over the free trade agreement with the Eurasian Customs Union notably after Egypt has hosted the meeting of experts committee last September.
On other side, ambassador Kirpichenko affirmed that the close Egyptian-Russian relations reflects the deep well of Egyptian and Russian officials to achieve mutual cooperation in different fields.
Moreover, Kirpichenko noted that a Russian mission encompassing representatives on one the affiliates of Russian railways will visit Cairo next week to negotiate with the Egyptian transport ministry to supply train carriages to the Egyptian National Railways.
