Egypt Knauf launches its first training centre in Egypt
Knauf Egypt launched on Monday its first training centre in Egypt, following a press conference held at the company’s headquarters.
Launched under the auspicious of German Joint Cooperation programme, the Centre aims to support Egyptian state’s efforts to curb unemployment and to rehabilitate architectural workers at a highly skilled level, push them into the labour market in light of the architectural and engineering revolution that is currently taking place in the North African country.
Isabel Knauf, General partner of the German Knauf Group; Emmanuel Sigalas, general manager of Knauf Egypt; German Ambassador representative Tillmann Hochmler; other officials at Knauf Egypt, and representatives of the German Federal Bank DEG, attended the ceremony.
Ahmed Abdul Rahman, Director of Knauf Training Centres, said the centre is one of three other centres, the second will be located in Upper Egypt in Assiut Governorate, while the third is in Alexandria to serve Delta cities so as to create the largest job opportunities for the huge sector of youth in Egypt.
Knauf will train Egyptian workers in its centres on many crafts as gypsum board systems that are currently used in all modern national and urban projects, creating job opportunities for graduates of the training centre.
“I thank our guests for attending today in Egypt as a result of investment began in 2009 when Knauf was a warehouse, but things have improved since 2014, when production was doubled after the establishment of a company in the name of Knauf in Egypt, our investment increased to €70 million in December 2021.” said Isabelle Knauf.
