Egypt’s Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk met with Kuwaiti Finance Minister Nora Suleiman Al Fassam to explore ways to boost Kuwaiti investment in Egypt’s growing agricultural sector, as per a Cabinet statement.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the meetings of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), focused on leveraging Egypt’s expanded infrastructure and interest in agro-processing to support mutual food security goals.
Farouk emphasised Egypt’s support for Kuwaiti projects like those by Alghanim Industries, which have already enabled large-scale vegetable exports.
Al Fassam revealed that Kuwait is preparing a national food security strategy and welcomed Egypt’s participation in shaping joint ventures.
Both sides stressed the urgency of national food security strategy amid regional challenges.
