Egypt tenders to upgrade Transport Ministry’s IT structure

Egypt is offering a tender tailored to upgrade the IT structure and build the geographic information system of the Ministry Of Transportation.

The tender is launched by Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT).

The ministry will hold a session on December 7th, to answer all the inquiries about the tender.

The opening of the bidders’ envelopes is slated for January 11th, 2016. Bidders shall submit the technical and financial envelops to the MCIT.

The tender aims to collect information in order to establish a central database for the Ministry of Transportation, to be updated regularly through an electronic geographic portal.

The project will provide electronic services and applications as well as technical support in order to enable the Ministry of Transportation to undertake its tasks and follow up projects.

Offering the tender is part of a protocol on cooperation signed in April 2015 between the ministries two ministries, seeking to develop transportation ministry’s IT system.

The estimated budget for the protocol has reached 16 million Egyptian pounds divided between the two ministries.
