Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar launched on Saturday the National Digital Health Strategy 2025–2029 during the 3rd Global Congress on Population, Health, and Human Development (PHDC’25), held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi from 12 to 15 November.
Serving as a comprehensive roadmap, the National Digital Health Strategy seeks to modernise Egypt’s healthcare sector through the strategic use of information and communication technologies. It aims to create an integrated, human-centred digital health system by 2029, providing secure and equitable access to high-quality services. Key measures include developing safe, interoperable systems and unifying national health data to support decision-makers and improve the quality of care for citizens.
Implementing the strategy is expected to boost the performance and resilience of Egypt’s healthcare system by enabling data-driven decision-making, facilitating access to digital health services, and improving overall system efficiency in addressing emerging challenges. This initiative aligns with Egypt’s broader vision of a sophisticated digital health system that reinforces public trust and ensures the sustainability of healthcare services.
