The Egyptian State Lawsuits Authority decided Monday not to appeal the court ruling to ban the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood and its NGO, confiscating its assets and capital.
The court ruling is final and will not be appealed by the state.
The decision comes on the same day that Egypt’s State Commissioners Authority has recommended the dissolution of the Freedom and Justice Party, the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Brotherhood filed two lawsuits with the administrative court and state council against the government decision to form a joint committee from the Ministries of Solidarity, Interior, Local Development, Justice, and National Security, to manage the confiscated assets and funds of the Brotherhood’s NGO.
Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood existed outside of Egyptian law for decades after its official ban in 1954, and was only officially registered as an NGO in March 2013.
