Egypt loads 100 locally made buses at East Port Said – SCZONE
East Port Said Port successfully loaded 100 locally manufactured buses onto the vessel SUNSHINE ACE on Tuesday, the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority (SCZONE) said, marking a boost for Egypt’s vehicle exports and engineering industries.
The SUNSHINE ACE, a specialised car carrier measuring 199.95 metres long and 32.2 metres wide with a total capacity of 58,917 tons, arrived from Liman Port, Türkiye, and will continue its voyage to Tema Port in Ghana after completing loading operations.
The buses were loaded at the Suez Canal Authority Car Terminal (SCAT), one of East Port Said’s specialised terminals, equipped with advanced infrastructure to handle large-scale vehicle shipments efficiently.
The authority said the shipment underscores the growing operational capacity of Egyptian ports, particularly East Port Said, and highlights Egypt’s role as a regional logistics hub and gateway for global trade. SCZONE said the export is part of broader efforts to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products in Middle Eastern and African markets.
“The successful shipment reflects Egypt’s strategic focus on leveraging its geographic location to support economic development and expand export opportunities,” the authority said.
