Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Sherif Farouk, has confirmed that the country’s strategic stockpile of essential goods remains secure, with reserves of some commodities sufficient for up to a year.
The update was provided during a government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, where officials reviewed efforts to ensure stable supplies of key products.
Minister Farouk notably attributed the strong reserve levels to ongoing import contracts and the start of the local harvest and procurement season.
