Egypt is presenting a strong food industry presence at the WorldFood Istanbul 2025 trade fair for the fourth consecutive year, with 22 companies exhibiting as exports to Türkiye climb, the Food Export Council (FEC) said Wednesday.
The event, which opened on Tuesday and runs for four days, is one of Türkiye’s largest international food and beverage exhibitions. Egyptian firms are displaying a wide range of products including juices, tomato paste, pasta, frozen fruits and vegetables, dates, dairy, frozen potatoes, snacks, herbs, grains and jams.
Egypt’s participation is coordinated by the FEC and the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, with support from the Egyptian Commercial Service and its Istanbul office.
Egyptian food exports to Turkey rose 64 per cent in the first half of 2025 to $57 million, compared with $35 million a year earlier, according to official data. The increase was helped by the Egypt- Türkiye free trade agreement, which has given Egyptian goods greater market access and price competitiveness.
“The fair provides a vital platform for Egyptian companies to connect with potential buyers in Turkey, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe,” the FEC said in a statement.
