Egypt moves to ease vehicle imports for people with disabilities

Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar convened a ministerial meeting on Wednesday to streamline procedures for releasing vehicles for people with disabilities, the ministry said.

The meeting, held in line with directives from the political leadership, aimed to reduce burdens on citizens while ensuring benefits are delivered only to eligible recipients. Officials agreed to strengthen oversight of imports and apply stricter governance rules to safeguard transparency and fairness.

The discussions also addressed ways to support companies that have incurred costs under existing import regulations, as well as efforts to simplify the release of vehicles, including those with larger engine capacities currently held at customs.
