Egypt mulls private sector operation of airports
Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly held a meeting on Sunday to discuss a proposal from the Egyptian-French alliance of Hassan Allam Group and Paris Airports Group (ADP) for collaborating with the government in managing and operating airports under its government offerings programme.
Madbouly welcomed the initiative, highlighting the government’s openness to partnership with the private sector in the field of management and operation of the Egyptian airports.
He expressed hope that Paris Airports Group would participate in upcoming bids for managing Egyptian airports.
The alliance proposed holding workshops with the Ministry of Civil Aviation to discuss detailed plans, which Madbouly approved to facilitate discussions on potential partnerships.
Eng. Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding, emphasised the alliance’s commitment to improving airport capacity and streamlining passenger and cargo movement.
ADP Deputy CEO Xavier Hürstel stated the company aims to modernise airports to international standards, enhance passenger services, and boost airport revenues.
