Egypt names Amr Mahfouz CEO of ITIDA
Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decree on Thursday to name Amr Mahfouz as CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), for one year.
In July 2020, Egyptian Minister for Communications and Information Technology (ICT) Amr Talaat issued a decree appointing Amr Mahfouz ITIDA Acting CEO and the Assistant ICT Minister for Growth and Development.
Mahfouz has extensive experience in the IT field for more than 33 years in business development and transforming businesses through implementing different technologies to meet and achieve targets.
He has a record of achievements and proven expertise in areas of digital transformation, business consulting, talent management, systems integration, capacity building, and global operations in emerging markets, according to ICT statement.
Prior to joining ITIDA in July 2020, Mahfouz worked for more than 33 years in IBM where he has established strong business relationships and helped different-scale enterprises reinvent their business, go-to-market strategies, and thrive in the digital era.
He held several executive positions and leadership roles where he led the implementation of several large-scale projects across different industries, including telcos, government, and banking. During his tenure as head of the Consulting Services Division, Mahfouz supervised all aspects of digital transformation projects, including transforming related business processes to improve clients’ performance, increase value, and accelerate growth.
He also served as IBM’s Communications Sector Leader for the MEA region out of Dubai, and Managing Partner, Global Business Services Country Leader at IBM in Saudi Arabia.
