Egypt names Ramy El-Dokany as EGX’s new chairman
Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly has appointed on Thursday Ramy El-Dokany as head of the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) board and Hebatallah El-Serafy as his deputy for one-year term.
Prior to his appointment as EGX chairman, El-Dokany was elected as the secretary general of the Arab Federation of Exchange in 2019, to formulate a common vision for the Arab Capital markets and introduce fintech ideas.
Earlier this month, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has appointed Mohamed Farid as the new chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) as of August 7, 2022.
El-Dokany was a board member of BM Lease company – a subsidiary of Banque Misr from April 2017 to June 2019 and a member of the Investment Committee – the Insurance Holding Company from July 2017 to September 2018.
In addition to that he was an Investment Committee member of the VC program of the Social Development Fund in cooperation with the World Bank (WB).
Noteworthy, he has more than 19 years of experience investment, corporate finance and strategic planning fields.
El-Dokany holds an MSc in Finance from Wales University and a BSc in Economics from Cairo University. He also holds a BSc in Investment from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (ASST).
