Egypt offers 35 new leather factories in Robbiki industrial zone this July

Egypt will begin offering 35 new leather goods factories in the third phase of its flagship Robbiki Leather City starting July 1, 2025, as part of efforts to boost specialised industrial development, the government said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Robbiki complex, located east of Cairo, has become a national model for specialised industrial zones. So far, 308 tanneries and 40 glue factories have been allocated and brought into operation. Additionally, 58 leather manufacturing plants have been offered and assigned, and contracts have been delivered for 52 industrial units.

The project is part of Egypt’s broader push to localize key industries, enhance value-added production, and expand exports, particularly in leather and related goods.
